R+R Hub in partnership with local caterers, Posh Nosh, have been praised for their generosity by the East Midlands housing and support service charity, Framework. Twice a week, the operating team collect any surplus fresh food from the hub sites in their mission to combat food waste and support the local community.
Since January, R+R Hub have been kindly donating this food to Framework on London Road in Nottingham to be given to its residents.
Framework are a charity who support over 18,000 homeless people a year by delivering housing, health, employment, support and care services to people with a diverse range of needs across the East Midlands. Regardless of their past, Framework work to empower people to achieve their financial stability and independence.
Each week around 100 sandwiches, salads, wraps and pasta pots are donated by R+R Hub and so far, have donated 2,944 items since January.
Resident Steve has told us: “I have been living in Framework for the past few weeks and they have been amazing here, helping me get back on my feet and sending me on some great courses. Like me some people here are unable to afford food and are going hungry, so when people like yourselves donate food to us it really is appreciated. The work you guys are doing is amazing, we can’t thank you enough for the donations you provide us with. My favourite sandwiches would be Cheese and Egg Mayo”.
COVID19 hasn’t necessarily changed what people want to eat but in many cases, it has changed how they go about eating it and this is particularly true in the workplace.
