Specsavers

As we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has drastically affected the way we work and live with many of the changes seeming to become more and more permanent. One such place where the pandemic has forced changes, is in the way we purchase and consume food in the workplace – Specsavers recognised this and teamed up with us to develop a flexible solution for their on-site staff.

What did we come up with?

To start with, a vending machine was purchased from our sister company, Cema Vending, to provide staff with drinks and snacks throughout the working day. Specsavers also wanted a new branded coffee solution that they could provide to their staff, to do this we used their existing WMF fresh milk machine. We received the machine back in working order and agreed to supply them with locally sourced coffee beans from 200 Degrees (which has been a huge hit with the staff!)

In addition to the initial solutions, we also helped cater for their ‘Welcome Back’ event for which we had a member of our team on site to serve free coffee over the course of 6 weeks. Our team also helped to provide fresh food for their ‘Toast’ days across multiple sites, supplied breakfast burritos from Jake + Nayns (This was also a huge hit with the staff!), organised daily deliveries of pastries to both sites through our catering partner, supplied soft drinks and helped source a street food provider for their street food lunch days.

Why did we do all of this?

Due to the pandemic, Specsavers were forced to close their existing manned canteen but upon returning to the office they wanted a flexible solution for their staff that would be effective until the long term office environment became more clear.
We had extensive discussions with the client in order to develop the most effective and suitable solution for their specific needs. The team here at R+R Hub were happy to go out of their way to execute all the parts of the plan to perfection. We hope the staff over at Specsavers enjoy the refreshments as much as we enjoy supplying them!
